Position: Purchasing/Demand Specialist
Hours: Full Time- Monday – Friday some weekends as needed
Summary: Must have experience in purchasing, inventory control and materials planning. Must be a motivated self-starter who has excellent listening skills, interpersonal skills, and follow up. Must be flexible w/changes, revisions and recounts.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Utilize MRP/MPS and ERP system for efficient execution of responsibilities and objectives
- Identify and execute cost reductions through supply chain implementation, min max programs, reorder points and safety stock levels.
- BPCS input - SAP input – scanning as needed
- Responsible for extract, additives, various material ordering and pallet control.
- Assists op planning dept. with requests and projects as assigned
- Prepares, coordinates preparation of reports, analyzing data, and identifying possible solutions
- Maintains specified inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
- Use of mix/max systems is encouraged for repetitive ordering.
- Backs up operations planning as assigned.
- Will be directly involved with the BPCS to LX system upgrade with team.
- Eliminate production line downtime due to material availability
- Coordinate and manage purchase orders
- Work with transportation to ensure timely deliveries of inbound materials at competitive rates
- Development of supplier and supply related metrics.
- Communicate with vendors ad carriers to develop effective working relationships.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Proficient in Excel
