Laser Automation Consultant
POSITION SUMMARY
Within the designated territory, take control over the sales of laser, laser automation and other assigned equipment. Automation consultants promote the sale of equipment within the specified product group. They will be responsible for development of the laser market in their assigned territory for lasers and corresponding systems. Must provide convincing, professional presentations on the specified equipment as well as the other product lines to various levels of audiences. Using detailed knowledge of Amada equipment and programming systems, assist customers in application and cost justification analysis, make recommendation for most suitable machine(s) and systems for a particular application. The Automation Consultant will work in concert with the local sales engineers and regional sales managers and will report to the Laser Product Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Cold calling to develop new “B” accounts.
- Work with engineering group for any automation layouts and clear understanding of automation operation
- Makes sales calls on established customers.
- Provides status reports and call reports to Laser Product Manager.
- Processes sales documentation.
- Be the point person at all demonstrations of equipment, guiding the customer \
- Keeps informed of product knowledge and pricing information.
- Develop sales strategies and adapt based on changing sales situation
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Prepare special reports, as needed.
- Assist in miscellaneous duties within the department
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE - Engineering degree in a related field and/or equivalent sales experience.
SKILLS - Computer knowledge (PowerPoint, word processing and spreadsheets).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), detailed-oriented.
TRAVEL - Frequent travel

Associates or better in Engineering or related field.
Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
