Regional Events Specialist
Ballard Spahr has an exciting new opportunity available for a highly detail-oriented and organized regional events professional to join our marketing team. The Regional Events Specialist will be responsible for managing the coordination and implementation of office business development and client events and sponsorships. The Specialist's primary responsibility is the successful management and execution of events that highlight and reinforce the Ballard brand and management of sponsorships in local and regional markets. Working closely with the Regional Business Development Managers, the Regional Events Specialist implements events best practices, timelines, budgets, and reporting. This position interacts with attorneys, Directors of Office Administration, local office staff, IT legal administrative assistants, and local vendors to coordinate and complete projects. The incumbent must possess a strong sense of urgency and a keen eye for detail. A commitment to delivering excellent client service is key. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on priorities and deadlines is essential. This position can be located in any Ballard office.
The selected individual will plan and manage a portfolio of events; conduct venue research and prepare information in event proposal; maintain relationships with potential vendors and venues and proceed to contract/process payment when applicable; coordinate requests for CLE credit for all applicable programs; work with the firm's client relationship management (CRM) team to pull relevant database contact and event lists/reports. He or she will also maintain report and export templates within the CRM when necessary; oversee the coordination for office sponsorships and collaborate with the Regional Business Development Managers and communications team on the design and execution of deliverables such as ads, exhibit tables, logo submission, materials/handouts etc.

Requirements:
The specialist must have a superior client service minded attitude with a penchant for processes and problem solving, and have the ability to work independently and maintain a focus on priorities while meeting strict deadlines. A collaborative, consultative, inclusive working style is paramount. Similarly, relationships and the ability to quickly grasp the subtler elements of the firm's culture are essential. A strong sense of urgency and eye for detail are required.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or other related field and a minimum of 2 years of prior event planning experience; law firm experience a plus. Strong computer proficiency a must, with knowledge of Interaction a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a commitment and initiative to take ownership and drive projects. Must be able to work well under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment. Travel is required.
