Customer Service Representative II - Part Time

We have an outstanding part-time opportunity available for a qualified individual to perform a variety of customer service duties and office work of average complexity for the Customer Service & Marketing Division of Burbank Water and Power.
You will work in a customer care section which includes: billing, call center, cashiering, credit, collections, marketing, and field services; interact with the public in-person, via e-mail, fax, and telephone; respond to customer inquiries about municipal services accounts, billing, payments, programs, and City services; verify customer account and service status; access various databases and software applications to explain services and charges; explain procedures, programs, regulations, and rates; handle cash; accept bill payments and issues receipts; balance a cash drawer and prepare deposit slips of cash and checks; make appropriate payment extensions and payment arrangements; assist with basic research and data gathering and analysis; recommend procedural improvements; promote City programs and services; process paperwork for high-bill investigations; accept and prepare customer applications and closing orders for utility services; determine consumption; report customer concerns; review periodic reports for accuracy; prepare reports using discretion to correct discrepancies; and perform the duties of Customer Service Representative I. May train and supervise employees.
Requires high school graduation (or equivalent) and two years of recent experience in customer contact work or one year experience in data entry. Ability to type accurately from clear copy at a speed of 35 net wpm (typing certificate from an accredited source must accompany City application to be considered), and a valid California Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent are also required at time of hire.
