City Of Oakwood Public Works Department Full-time General Service Worker
The city of Oakwood seeks to fill full-time General Service Worker vacancies in the Public Works Department. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of repetitive lifting up to 60 pounds. Position responsibilities include collecting refuse and yard debris; operating plow equipment; driving trucks to and from work sites; and operating other motorized equipment. This position utilizes various hand tools and equipment including shovels, rakes, brooms, chain saws, tamps, rollers, jackhammers, etc. Candidates must have a valid Ohio driver's license and CDL at the time of appointment, or be capable of attaining a CDL within 12 months of employment. Regular working hours for the position are Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, with mandatory overtime as circumstances warrant. The city provides a comprehensive wage and fringe benefit package including health, dental, vision and life insurance; paid vacation; sick leave and holidays; and membership in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). The pay range for the position is $18.53 to $26.67 per hour, depending upon qualifications. Selected candidates will be required to complete a thorough physical exam & drug screen.
