Recruiter - Healthcare
Responsible for recruiting clinical, technical, professional, managerial, technical, and multiple levels of staff. Pro-active sourcing of qualified applicants through multiple avenues including networking, job fairs, media and other successful venues to create a pipeline of candidates for the health system. Coordinates the employment process, including maintenance of active applications, interview/screening of candidates, coordination of departmental interviews, reference checking and finalization of employment details. Provides recommendations to management staff regarding job candidates as necessary.
Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
Experience: Three to five years of human resources experience with strong focus healthcare recruitment experience.
Skills: Advanced interpersonal skills necessary in order to screen applicants, make public presentations and deal effectively with hospital and departmental team and management.
Advanced analytical skills required in order to develop and implement effective recruiting plans, screen candidates, prepare management reports, and make recommendations regarding job applicants.
Duties and Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources and management staff throughout the hospital, reviews staffing and recruiting needs and trends and develops strategies and requirements for filling specific positions
- Utilizes recruitment strategies including social media and other advertising strategies to attract talent pools for the healthcare system.
- Coordinates and attends recruiting and health careers programs. Coordinates recruiting activities such as open houses, luncheons, tours and other events.
- Extends employment offers as appropriate to the organizations total compensation and benefit strategy
- Utilizes applicant tracking system (ATS) to receive, file, track, and summarize employment authorizations and other elements of the employment process. Ensures compliance with policy, procedures, laws and regulations regarding employment.
- Maintains files and records of recruiting activities including costs, current applications, special efforts undertaken, applicant flow data and other relevant information. Prepares a variety of reports and analyses indicating recruiting activity for management review as necessary.
- Prepare and posts job openings; ensure candidate notification of results; maintain notification in maintains ATS system of vacancies, applicant tracking and results.
- Coordinates and schedules interviews for external job candidates, performs reference checks and notifies unsuccessful candidates in writing.
- Assist with organization orientation and partners with Clinical education programs and schedules for new employees.
- Makes recommendations regarding hiring candidates for positions in areas or departments assigned. Participates with management staff in making final selections.
- Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the customer service expectations and objectives of the department and hospital.
- Maintains communication with candidates as CMH's primary contact person through telephone calls, letters, interviews and emails by providing information, answering inquiries and arranging visits to the hospital.
- Recommends and assists in developing and implementing more efficient and effective employment policies and procedures.
