Summary
Utah Valley University located in Orem, Utah seeks an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics. Duties: Teach 24 credit hours per year of undergraduate courses in Biostatistics and Statistics including, but not limited to: introduction to statistics, principles and methods of statistics, multivariate analysis, statistical process control, stochastic processes, applied regression and time series, and a graduate course in the theory of statistics. Advise and supervise undergraduate students with their statistics and biostatistics practicums and internship projects. Present scholarly work at academic conferences and journal publications. Collaborate with faculty on multi-disciplinary research projects. Serve the department, college and university and provide services to the community relevant to the appropriate academic specialty through outreach and committee participation.
Required Qualifications
PhD degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related degree with emphasis in Biostatistics and Statistics. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. Demonstrable ability to teach and design curriculum for university level undergraduate biostatistics and statistics courses in the areas listed above. Demonstrable ability to advise and supervise undergraduate students with their statistics and biostatistics practicums and internship projects. Demonstrable ability to implement current instructional theories, strategies, and techniques in statistics and biostatistics. Record of scholarly work as evidenced by at least two published articles in a top tier peer reviewed journal in statistics or biostatistics.
