Farm Worker/Laborer Salary: $13.13 Location: COPPERTON, UT, 84006 Description: Temporary Need: 04/15/19 - 11/30/19. Nineteen (19) full-time, temporary farm workers/laborers needed. Be able to lift and carry 40 lbs. Location: Work will be performed in Copperton, Utah. Will work 40 hrs/wk, Mon-Fri. Wage is $13.13/hr. Overtime will be paid at a rate of $19.69/hour. In order to comply with its obligation under ?655.122(l) will offer, advertise in its recruitment, and pay a wage that is the highest of the AEWR, the prevailing hourly wage, or the Federal or State minimum wage, except where a special procedure is approved for an occupation or specific class of agricultural employment. Duties: Manually plant, cultivate, harvest, spray, weed, fertilize, transplant pot, label, prune and water, trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, ground covers and annuals.(80% of the time). The duties are: Prepare Soil, mixing ingredients with a tractor loader. Load Containers, plugs, cuts, seeds and /or bare roots on a trailer and move them with a Utility vehicle to the nesting area. If possible use the container soil filling machine (Based on container size). If not possible, manually fill up 70% of the container with soil using gardening tools and shovels, then place the plant/seed/bare root/cut in the center of the container by hand and fill up the container with soil using gardening tools and shovels, manually press the plant down and compress the soil around the plant. Place label by hand and load the filled containers onto a trailer and move them with a Utility vehicle to fertilize with a hand spreader and water it using a hose. Transport the plant to the growing area and connect it to the irrigation. In addition, if it is tree production, the tree container needs to be surrounded with sawdust using a tractor loader y shovels. LOAD trucks to deliver trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, ground covers and annuals to customers. (10% of the time).The duties are: Manually pick up the ordered plants and load them to the delivery tree needed a d load them to the delivery truck using a front loader. Manually cover the products with tarps. Manually clean areas with brooms and shovels. Maintain grounds and landscaping using shovels, gardening tools, weed eaters (10% of the time). The worker will trained in any of the activities, included all necessary equipment and hand tools to be used. Experience needed: Manually plant, cultivate, harvest, spray, weed, fertilize, transplant pot, label and water, trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, ground covers and annuals. The teams are supervised closely by a line leader. Progressive Plants Inc. will provide without charge all tools, supplies and equipment to perform the duties assigned. Terms and conditions of employment: Workers must be available for the entire work period; exposure to extreme temperature; repetitive movements; and frequent stooping. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Progressive Plants Inc. will provide a three-fourths guarantee of the workdays of each 12 week period during period of employment. Upon completion of the work contract period, or if the employee is terminated without cause, and the worker has no immediate subsequent H-2A employment, the employer will provide or pay for the workers transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer. When the worker will not be returning to the place of recruitment due to subsequent employment with another employer who agrees to pay such costs, the employer only pays for the transportation to the next job. The amount of such transportation payment will be equal to the worker's actual transportation costs not exceed the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distance involved. Employees eligible for reimbursement under the program will be provided subsistence reimbursement of a minimum of $12.26 per 24-hour travel period or the CONUS meal reimbursement rate $51.00 maximum when receipts are provided for travel within the United States.
