Vocational Instructor
Supports individuals through direct interaction/intervention to reach optimum level of independence and vocational development through vocational training and positive behavioral supports. Further enhances individual’s level of independence through life skills training during Group Training classes. Implements identified goals/outcomes for individuals as directed. Needs to be flexible with change to a variety of work settings and program needs.
Comprehends and complies with all standards set forth by regulatory agencies i.e. DDS, United States Department of Labor (USDOL), Americans Disabilities Act (ADA), and any other relevant governmental agencies or information, within the realm of program involvement.
WAGES: $9-9.50 D.O.E.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License in order to operate Agency vehicles.
- Pass OSBI, MVR, DHS Registry Check, reference checks, pre-employment drug test and any other background check as Agency requires or deems necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to make quick and logical decisions
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to operate Agency vans (12-15 seat van)
- Good verbal and written communication skills. An acceptable level of reading and writing ability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The following physical requirements are necessary to meet this Job Description:
- Standing up to eight hours
- Able to lift maximum weight of 50 pound (vertically)
- Able to lift maximum weight of 25 pounds (horizontally)
- Able to carry the above described weights a maximum distance of 100 feet
- Regularly required to talk with or listen to others.
- Frequently required to sit and use hands to handle/feel objects, tools or controls.
- Vision requirements include depth perception, ability to see peripherally and ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus.
- Required to be able to operate a vehicle for travel/transportation purposes.
- Additional physical requirements to be considered depending on the training and the skill being trained and can include sitting, bending, stooping, lifting, grasping and stretching.
- The demands of the job include being individually responsible for a group of clients and therefore must be able to physically demonstrate first aid skills including seizure care; perform CPR; use an AED and perform the Heimlich maneuver.
NOTE - Staff will be counseled for lifting more than maximum weight or for non-use of required Safety Equipment.
JOB CONDITIONS:
Normal working hours are from 8:00am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with 30 minutes for lunch at agency – away from individuals. Two 15 minute breaks if scheduling allows.
This position is non-exempt and does receive overtime pay at time and a half for over 40 hours worked per payroll week.
