Food Service Coordinator
Part Time Food Service Coordinator for Senior Center. Day shift. Oversees daily food delivery & meal service.
The Falls Township Senior Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is seeking a dedicated individual to direct day-to-day operations of the nutrition program. Under the oversight of the Center Manager, the Food Service Coordinator provides food services for the FTSC senior population, including, but not limited to, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, volunteer management, food and supply management, and computer-based reporting. The successful candidate will implement the food program following prescribed health and safety standards, recruit and maintain a volunteer kitchen staff and delivery drivers, and maintain positive interactions with a variety of people and ages.
Skills and Experience Desired:
· Minimum High School diploma or GED with 2 to 3 years food service experience.
· Previous supervisory experience and/or experience working with volunteers preferred.
· Bucks County Department of Health certification as a Food Safety Manager and a ServSafe Certificate are required. The certifications may be obtained while on the job at the first possible instance the ServSafe course is offered, followed by the Food Safety Manager certification.
· Ability to work with others. Understands the relationship of this job to the Senior Center’s mission and to other jobs in the Senior Center. Communicates with co-workers, supervisors and staff from within facility to solve problems, improve quality, processes and services. Participates on Senior Center committees and task forces. Identifies and acts on opportunities to help and support work efforts of co-workers and staff from Senior Center without being asked.
· Welcomes new staff and creates a positive work environment. Helps co-workers and volunteers understand and implement change.
· Working knowledge of Excel, Word, CoPilot (a web-based reporting program), or any other computer programs necessary to the Senior Center.
· Must be detail oriented, literate, have legible handwriting skills, keyboarding skills, and the ability to communicate coherently. Good interpersonal skills are required.
· Must be able to use kitchen and office equipment and software programs available.
· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints concerning kitchen issues from Board members, Senior Center members and participants, fellow employees, and management in a professional manner.
· Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required.
