District Chief Operator
Serves as the Chief Operator for the Foothill Municipal Water District (District) under the direction of the District Engineer and in compliance with local, county, state and federal regulations, this position plans, organizes, coordinates, assigns, directs and evaluates the operations staff in the operation, repair and maintenance of the District’s water transmission system, storage reservoirs, booster pumps and other associated facilities. Performs related duties assigned. This position shall act as the Chief Operator as defined by the California Code of Regulations and bear all responsibilities associated with that title.
Required Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities, is qualifying.
Education: Some college water-related coursework along with three years supervisory experience in constructions, maintenance, repair, and operation of water distribution/transmission and treatment facilities; Backflow Tester and Cross-Connection related to effective supervision management of employees.
Licenses/Certificates and Other Requirements
Driver’s License: Possess and maintain a valid Class C California driver’s license and safe driving record.
Certificates:
- Possess and maintain a Water Treatment Operator Grade T2 certificate;
- Possess and maintain a Water Distribution Grade D4 certificate in accordance with the Operator Certification Regulations—California State Water Resources Control Board;
- Possess and maintain a back-flow tester and cross-connection control specialist certification.
Salary:
$7,545-$10,023 per month depending on qualifications
