Brand Manager, Direct to Consumer & Club Sales
King Estate Winery, located in Eugene Oregon is seeking a Brand Manager, Direct to Consumer and Club Sales. The Brand Manager at King Estate is responsible for multi-year strategic and in-year tactical brand plan development / implementation for the wine club and direct sales. The primary objectives for this position are to:
- Own and deliver the multi-year strategic plan and the annual operating plan;
- Lead the development of consumer programs, wine club and direct sales, to include social and digital systems.
The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in the following areas:
Digital & Media – Must be “digital first” in thinking. Have a deep understanding of overarching media and digital platforms and campaigns and how to leverage against brand’s strategic touchpoints. Candidates must have strong email marketing expertise and have worked with email service provider systems. Experience with e-commerce operations, shipping, and compliance are particularly important skills. Candidate must have experience creating an e-commerce calendar that plans direct sales and wine club shipments for a future 12-month cycle.
Internal & External Reporting – Lead the analysis and reporting of market and competitor trends to identify salient business issues and opportunities, working with divisional sales, finance, category management teams as necessary. Evaluate brand performance including volume, share and consumer awareness and pricing. Deliver key brand projects and initiatives which drive profitability targets.
Agility – Be results oriented and comfortable operating with a “test-and-learn” approach. Establish goals and targets for growth and know how to make adjustments along the way.
Classic brand management responsibilities also include strategic planning around wine club integration with larger business, managing agency relationships, evaluating creative and brand plans and owning business analysis as part of P&L management. This role offers the opportunity to be highly independent as part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team. The position will report to the CEO & COO.
Additionally, the team is supported by the Director of Marketing, Videographer, and Graphic Design Manager and works closely with the PR Director.
Requirements:
Education – Minimum of Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing; Master’s in business or marketing preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative.
Experience / Background – 5+ years of marketing experience. Adult beverage industry experience preferred.
Competencies – Solid experience in strategy / brand development, including brand positioning and brand building activities. Strong leadership / management skills with potential to move into a leadership position. Strong financial / business acumen. Strong digital acumen with focus on social media and eCRM. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as outstanding aptitude for time management. Thoroughness, creativity, interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills as well as proficiencies in problem solving, and the ability to multi-task are requirements.
