Bus and Vehicle Mechanic
Los Alamitos Unified School District Bus and Vehicle Mechanic 40 hours per week; 12 months per year $5,037 - $6,118 monthly

Basic Function: Under general supervision of a Maintenance Supervisor, use journey level skills, maintain and make mechanical repairs to gas, diesel and alternative fuel powered buses, trucks, automobiles and other mechanical equipment. Commitment to Los Alamitos Unified School District’s mission, vision and priority goals. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized heavy equipment mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent
- One year’s experience as a journey level heavy duty mechanic involving work on buses and trucks
- Possession of a valid California Special Driver Certificate for School Bus (DL-45) and ability to drive school bus routes is preferred.
- Prior to completing the probationary period of employment must have a valid Class A or Class B California Driver’s License and remain insurable market rate; medical examination required every two years.
