Manager of Fuel Regulatory Compliance

BASIC PURPOSE: This position manages and monitors ongoing fuel regulatory requirements on state and federal levels. This person will also lead communication efforts throughout the organization to remain in compliance with the appropriate agencies and in-house Accounting teams.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage fuel compliance obligations across all areas of the company
- Compile and submit federal regulatory reports, including but not limited to, DOE, EIA, and EPA
- Compile and submit required state reports, including California LCFS, and any other state fuel programs
- Oversees processes regarding RINs transfer requirements
- Oversees processes for quarterly and annual RFS attestations
- Researches regulatory changes and communicate with legal and front/mid/back office on necessary updates
- Ensure Musket, Trillium, and Biosphere are compliant with the environmental credits related to renewable fuels
- Work with Front Office on emerging markets created by regulatory and tax changes (such as LCFS)
- Partners with mid-office to ensure all renewable energy credits are processed accordingly
- Ensures all credits and tax benefits are captured and recorded by working with the renewable fuels team
- Engage federal and state policy makers on current and future policies relevant to the company
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience required
- Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in the energy industry preferred
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- 10+ years of experience in the energy industry preferred
- Skills:
- Hard Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, working knowledge of EMTS, and understanding of EPA regulations as it relates to fuels and RINs
- Soft Skills: Work with other employees, team player, detail and deadline oriented, multitasking, organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and keen attention to detail.
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
