Strength & Conditioning Specialist (Postural Restoration) (Nunu Enterprises LLC, Los Angeles, CA)
Utilize muscle activation techniques to instruct and restore symmetrical muscle strength, length, and flexibility in order to prevent future injuries and treat pre-existing injuries. Utilize breathing correction and postural correction techniques to retrain body’s postural position to improve mobility and performance and reduce muscular imbalances which lead to pain. Develop safe, professional, and comprehensive personal training programs to develop customized workout programs. Monitor and provide instruction during customized training sessions to ensure effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment. Conduct fitness consultations pre-participation screening, Medical History, Lifestyle questionnaire, and goal setting to assess and recommend personal and customized training programs. Assess and provide appropriate injury prevention, management and rehabilitation within the guidelines of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and state licensing board regulations. Analyze data to determine needs and treatment goals. Provide emergency and first aid care and treatment of acute injuries. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to advise on rehabilitation, conditioning, diet, and nutrition. Possess and maintain a level of fitness to deliver physical training activities (conditioning-calisthenics, etc.). The level of participation in these activities will be enough to gain a clear appreciation to identify possible causal injury factors in industrial athlete training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition, Physiology, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field, plus 18 months of professional experience developing, creating, and implementing rehabilitation and training programs (including creating testing assessments on postural alignment, using assessment tools, developing practices of neuromuscular techniques, designing rehabilitative and strength building programs, and applying clinical and intervention assessments and strategies) to restore muscle position and respiratory neutrality; and review medical assessments from licensed physicians in order to ascertain physical issues in order to design safe, effective, and appropriate exercise programs (including aquatic exercises and neuromuscular techniques for pain and injury prevention and postural restoration) based on medical history, health conditions and limitations, fitness levels, and personal goals.
Must also have the following: 18 months of professional experience applying clinical assessment and intervention strategies to restore muscle position and respiratory neutrality; 18 months of professional experience designing specific and customized high intensity interval training based on medical history, health conditions and limitations, fitness levels and personal goals; 18 months of professional experience instructing proper exercise techniques, breathing techniques, use of fitness equipment, and fitness concepts.
Certifications: Active Certification by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross in CPR/AED/Basic First Aid and Active Certification by the Postural Restoration Institute in Myokinematic Restoration, Pelvis Restoration, and Postural Respiration.
