People Creating Success, INC (PCS) is a family-owned and operated company supporting adults with developmental disabilities since 2000. We are looking for a full-time Controller for day-to-day operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, and other accounting responsibilities (see Job Duties below for more details)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related with +5 years experience in Accounting/Finance Administration
  • Or 10+ years experience as a Controller
  • CPA or CFA certification is not required but is a plus
  • Experience working with Regional Centers is a plus

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Detail-oriented, critical thinking abilities, self-starter, and highly motivated.
  • Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel to perform spreadsheet and financial analysis
  • Quickbooks and ADP payroll software is a plus
  • Deadline-driven with organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask 
  • Team player and positive attitude

 

Job Duties:

  • Participate in the formulation and administration of accounting, auditing, and budget policies and procedures. 
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement internal controls that support the company in its ability to meet functional and reporting deadlines.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and administration of accounting systems to improve the financial management capabilities and/or ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances or guidelines.
  • Manage and support accounting staff and provide opportunities for training
  • Supervise and monitor departmental budget performance; maintain fiscal control and accountability for budget expenditures; develop budget forecasts and reports; provide oral and written recommendations on financial matters; monitor service contracts/agreements, and coordinate the development of performance measures and workload indicators.
  • Advise departments, divisions, and sections on accounting problems, policies, and procedures; 
  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of accounting department functions.
  • Ensures that there is adequate financial control in place.
  • Oversees posting to General Ledger.
  • Closes books monthly.
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepares monthly and year-to-date financial statements and departmental summaries or operations.
  • Facilitates bi-monthly payroll distributions.
  • Facilitates bi-monthly payroll.
  • Oversees Worker's Compensation and group insurance records
  • Audits various expense reports.
  • Provides information for Auditors as needed.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable and payable
  • Generates special reports and assignments as needed.
  • Provide adequate security for documents requiring protection and confidentiality.
  • Makes recommendations for operating and capital budgets and ensures budget expenditures are within Agency guidelines.
  • Reports directly to Executive Director and CEO

 

Schedule:

Mon-Friday 

Full Time 

Daily schedule and times are flexible so long as both parties agree

Salary:  

$90,000-$110,000 annually
