Summary
The Craft Trainee Electrician works under the direct supervision of the Project Superintendent, Foreman and Journeyman Electrician on our private projects in Southern California to serve an approved standard period in the capacity of a trainee to prepare for the Journeyman classification of Electrician. Level placement into the Craft Trainee Program will be determined based off of your experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties are those that an individual must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Works with a Journeyman Electrician in all phases of electrical system construction and maintenance.
- Makes splices and terminations in low voltage electrical cables.
- Assists and observes Journeyman Electrician with the installation and monitoring the performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
- Assists and observes Journeyman Electrician with the installation, replacement, and testing of electrical circuits and equipment using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Assists and observes the Journeyman Electrician with the installation and maintenance of various types of lighting fixtures.
- Practices interpreting blueprints; learns to work from sketches or verbal instructions.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Presents self in a professional manner, provides open and honest communication, and demonstrates respect to co-workers and customers.
Qualifications
Education / Certificates / Licenses
Ø High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ø Valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record.
