The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified Assessment Appeals Board Members for appointment to sit as the county's Board of Equalization. Eligible candidates should have a minimum of five years' professional experience in California as a Certified Public Accountant or Public Accountant, Licensed Real Estate Broker, Licensed Attorney, or Property Appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization.
Duties: Listen to appeals of assessed valuation on the local property tax roll; apply relevant laws and procedures that govern the appeal process; collaborate with fellow board members in deliberations; prepare written summaries of evidence presented during hearings for findings of fact requests; complete training course as required by the Revenue and Taxation Code 1624.01. Candidates should be available an average of at least three days a week, Monday through Friday.
Compensation is up to $300 per day, depending upon hearing hours.
