The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Workforce Business Manager for its Workforce Solutions Division to assist growing Virginia companies with their recruitment and training needs, including marketing, managing and administering the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). This could be a Richmond-based or a home-office based position, but a considerable amount of the work week will be spent working in the Hampton Roads region.
Candidates must possess considerable experience in project management, and developing and implementing marketing, recruiting, and workforce development plans. The Business Manager must be able to provide exemplary customer service to business client companies as well as workforce partners and local community allies. The Business Manager will communicate and facilitate relationships with primary workforce delivery partners in the region, including the Virginia Community College System and the regional Workforce Development Boards. The candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a high performance work team to coordinate with other VEDP divisions, state and local economic developers, and representatives in all levels of the academic community.
The Workforce Business Manager must have excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Applicants must also have strong organizational skills and be able to plan and successfully manage multiple projects in a wide geographic area. Proficiency in using multiple PC software packages is required, including the Microsoft Office suite of products. Experience with Salesforce is a plus. Frequent travel is required. A valid driver’s license is required. Undergraduate degree in marketing, business administration, economics or equivalent work experience is required. Salary minimum: $65,000.00.
