Union College is seeking an energetic admissions professional to be a part of our dynamic team. We strive to recruit and select a diverse and talented class that will thrive at Union. To support that goal, the position will work on the West Coast and in Asia to recruit students, build relationships with high school counselors, independent educational consultants and alumni and achieve a high level of visibility for the College. This position is supported by an admission team dedicated to mentorship and professional development.
The selected candidate will be based in California, preferably near an international airport. Recruitment activities will include extensive travel, college fairs, school and CBO visits, presentations, receptions, and interviews. This position will share information with prospective students and families about admissions, financial aid, academic programs and student life at Union. This position's travel will be divided between the West Coast (USA) and international travel, primarily in Asia. This position will review and evaluate both domestic and international applications for admission and participate in workgroups and projects as assigned including supporting admissions communications and publications. Project responsibilities and title will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. 3-5 years of Admissions or related experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal skills. Demonstrated cultural fluency with constituencies including students, families, alumni, and college admission and counseling professionals from a range of diverse ethnic, national and socio-economic backgrounds. Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel. Knowledge of and commitment to the ideals of a liberal arts education.
