The University of Washington Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary/hourly, day shift, MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER 1 OR 2. This individual will primarily provide services to the Women's and Infants care division, including maternal & infant care clinic, labor and delivery, antepartum and neonatal intensive care units. There is potential for training to provide services to Transplant and Inpatient Psychiatry units as well. Responsibilities include screening and assessment, crisis intervention, advocacy, psychoeducation, grief support, connecting families to community resources, and working collaboratively as a member of interdisciplinary teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Worker 2:
This position may be hired as a Social Worker 1 or 2, depending on candidate's qualifications. Social Worker 2 participates as a Practicum Instructor for the School of Social Work as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
SOCIAL WORKER 1:
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education AND six months of experience in a health care delivery system.
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
Health care experience can include a practicum placement as part of a social work training program and/or employment experience.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT:
Within 90 days of hire must hold one of the following credentials issued by the state of Washington:
SOCIAL WORKER 2:
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND two years of full-time professional social work experience in a health-care setting eligible to begin social work practicum instruction for the School of Social Work.
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
