Student Life & Services’ Business Manager
Job Details
The Student Life and Services’ Business Manager coordinates the fiscal activities for several units and analyzes and interprets financial data and offers advice and consultation to the Dean of Students, the Assistant Director of Student Life & Services, and unit Directors. The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing departmental fiscal operations; creating and maintaining policies; monitoring and reconciling accounts, ledgers, and journal entries; and creating financial reports that help to guide decisions. This position may also be responsible for special projects assigned by the Dean of Students.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Three years of experience working with budget management, financial operations, record keeping, and reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of accounting theory, terms, and practices.
- Ability to access computerized databases and record systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to work with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Ability to comprehend complex written materials, policies and procedures.
